Sometimes it dawns on me

All the hate in this world

It bursts through the cracks

Of a nice afternoon

It seems to crush love

And the things we live for

Like a pen leaking ink

On a perfect blank page

Though it's not only hate

It won't win in this world

If you look right around you

The earth is all love

The planet seems careless

And offers its goods

It gives sun, shade and water

And the sweet taste of fruits

The earth won't be bitter

And neither should we

For if love is embraced

Between one another

We align close with nature

And during the sunrise

Our insecurities and fears

They could melt away

If only man would be peaceful one day

Step after step, wide views and dense forests Until you must rest, because your feet hurt

Pick a marked trail, or cross through a meadow Nobody with you, besides your own shadow

The sun greets you, bright skies awake you Woodland, villages, dark rivers to cross

You follow the rhythm, nothing to stop you The whispers of nature, will guide you along

Walk mile after mile, a stick in your hand A hiker's mile is a special mile, it lasts as a memory

Until there's the moment, you don't feel the legs They merged with the mind, and you have calmed down

Relieved all the stresses, and gone is the frown

And once you return, to the village at sunset It's like the sun cries, and gives its last heat

Golden tears, golden hours They smoothen the soul

A sip of cool water, and feeling revived You'll be in good spirits

It's what hiking does

Wherever your head sinks, deep into the pillow You stare at the ceiling, it reflects some sad shades

During such moments, travel might feel lonely Frustrating it could be, is what I can tell

What then will come up, are feelings and senses Just try to allow this, as it will pass by

Like white clouds moving forward, waving goodbye

And after each night, there is a new day With many more pretty, new places to see

And if you're not sharing the moments with loved ones You keep it for later, you'll have many stories

Even if no one's with you, there are many times Where you feel fulfilled, and it all feels right

Strolling through cities, on a train in the night Sometimes there is longing, for the place you call home

But during encounters, or with a view on the beach Travel feels worth it, just how it should be
